The consistent production and on time supply of cells is still a critical bottleneck in cell based drug screening. Frozen Instant Cells have been shown to be a valid alternative to fresh cells from a growing culture and meanwhile are frequently used to address this challenge. The separation of time consuming cell production from the actual screening process increases the flexibility and reliability of a screening campaign.
CCS custom cultivates adherent and suspension cells and prepares cryopreserved cells in highly consistent batches of up to 5x 1010 cells. Virtually any customer cell line can be transferred into CCS’s cell culture laboratory under the terms of a material transfer agreement. To ensure an optimal performance of the Frozen Instant Cells, a specific production process is implemented for each project, considering the growth properties of the customer’s cell line.
Cells can also be induced for target expression or can be transiently transfected in a bulk before freezing. Frozen Instant Cells are supplied on time as a reagent which is ready-to-use in cell based assays. As the optimal number of cells per aliquot may vary for different applications. CCS customizes the production for individual projects.
